TAQA Water is offering services & solutions for a wide spectrum water consuming sectors; standard potable water uses for daily human activities, low saline water used in agriculture and industrial process water based on the industry’s nature to meet the market need with innovative & reliable solutions elaborating customer satisfaction at the first place & with a wide range of contractual models.

 

 

 Power Generation

In the power generation sector, TAQA Power has invested, designed, constructed, operated and maintained more than 150 MW of conventional power generation projects and is currently operating  over six captive power generation projects with a total capacity of over 27MW, mostly thermal power plants.

TAQA Power extended its lines of business to include “Excess Power Utilization” business model and its related agreements for the first time in the Egyptian Electricity Market capitalizing on the declared “Electricity Transmission Wheeling” tariff and regulations through the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Grid.

TAQA Power has been actively pursuing opportunities and taking steps to grow its RE capacity.  In addition to the existing 71MW solar PV project under FIT program, it is also pursuing many opportunities in different sectors:

(i) off-grid PV projects in Egypt ranging from 2MWp to 25MWp, which will sell electricity to agriculture and industrial customers directly, (ii) a 100MW concentrated solar power (“CSP”) project, in partnership with other international developers.

    Large Scale Power Generation Qualification Experience

In 2010, TAQA with the Japanese developer Mitsui and Kepco of South Korea were qualified by Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co. “EETC” for Dairut  2,250 MW CCPP Project.

 

 

Power Distribution

TAQA Power is covering the full scope of services from development to construction and operation for both generation and distribution projects, through its subsidiaries, Global Energy, TAQA Industrial Zones and TAQA for Electricity Generation and Distribution.

 TAQA Power has become the leading private sector distribution company having or operating  substations with a total capacity of more than 1126MW, that it can offtake and sell directly to its clients.

 

 

Power Distribution O&M

TAQA Power owns and/or operates the substations and distribution networks across Egypt including 6th  October City industrial park (300MW) 9 Million sqm as well as Nabq center in Sharm el Sheikh (220MW) 27 Million sqm., TABA distribution project (12 MW) 4 Million sqm, Cairo Festival City 120 MW (4 Million sqm), Up Town Cairo project 80 MW(4 Million sqm), El  Nakhil New Cairo compound 60 MW(4 Million sqm) and many other electricity distribution projects such as  Mall of Arabia 30 MW AL-Burouj 150MW  (4 Million sqm),  AL Marasem (BinLaden Group)“5th Square” ,Landmark Sabour  “One Ninety . And CPC (BinLaden Group) & Polaris (Industrial Parks -SADAT city)

Our O&M Services includes, Reviewing and Approving Network Designs, 24/7 customer support and emergency response, applying regular and pre-paid metering systems, billing and collections and many other power efficiency testing and services.

 

 

Renewable

 

As part of TAQA Power’s vision to have a diversified portfolio of energy sources, TAQA Power has been very keen to penetrate the renewable energy market. TAQA Power have allied with several key players in the renewable energy market in order to bid for all PV & CSP tenders that were provided by the government. In collaboration with SolarReserve, TAQA Power has qualified for the 200MW BOO project in Kom Ombo and ranked No.3 among 15 qualified bidders. TAQA Power has also bided for both 100MW CSP and 200MW PV projects in the West of Nile Area and is waiting for further governmental processes in order to finalize the project.

In Feb 2018, the Japanese (Mitsui) in collaboration with TAQA and SolarReserve have been qualified for a 600MW PV BOO project in the west of Nile area.

TAQA Solar

Recently TAQA Solar, TAQA Power’s newly established Renewable Energy arm has been one of the first companies established for the purpose of finalizing  a 65MW PV solar power plant in Benban (Aswan)-part of the biggest PV solar park in the world. The project is Under the Egyptian governments feed-in tariff program and started commercial operation in Feb 2019. The project total investment reached US$ 72 Million and was funded by the IFC along with other development banks from Finland, Austria, Bahrain & China.

 

    TAQA PV

  TAQA power’s another newly established arm to accommodate our future expansion in Solar Energy projects, having a diversity of small to medium   scale clients among the different sectors such as agricultural projects “Dina Farms (5MW)” where a $4.2 M Loan was signed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) promoting the expansion of the renewable energy in Egypt by supporting the first green private to private project. In addition to  other industrial & touristic projects.
