TAQA Petroleum acquired its license to distribute fuel products in July 2007 and since then it has successfully inaugurated 64 state of the art fuel stations, 80 Castrol exclusive shops and operate two storage terminals in Suez and Alexandria. TAQA Petroleum has been the sole distributor of Castrol products in the Egyptian market since 2008. In 2019, TAQA Petroleum signed a JV with BP, to create (Castrol Egypt).
TAQA Solar has been one of the first companies to finalize a 65MW PV solar power plant in Benban (Aswan)-part of the biggest PV solar park in the world. The project is Under the Egyptian government feed-in tariff program and started commercial operation in Feb 2019. The project total investment reached US$ 72Million and was funded by the IFC along with other development banks. The project received the best project prize award and recognition from the World Bank & IFC .

TAQA Arabia announced the commissioning of the largest solar power plant in Sharm El-Sheikh build on an area of 250,000 sqm and with a production capacity exceeding 42 GWh / year. The Solar plant with a total investment of around Million 250 EGP will be supplying clean electricity to more than 6,000 hotel rooms while reducing carbon emissions by about 500,000 tons throughout its lifetime, which extends up to 25 years.
